Corporate Social Responsibility

At Mohinani, we consider global issues to be both our personal and societal burden because they affect not only our companies but, worse, pose an existential threat to humanity. Thus, we deem it a privilege to be able to contribute to the upkeep and improvement of our planet for our own good by investing in people, communities, and the environment!

Our impact focus cuts across environmental sustainability and health to special initiatives that drive inclusion and empower minority groups in societies. Through our carefully curated programs, WASH, EDI, and MFP, the Mohinani Group directly contributes to solving eight (8) of the world’s biggest problems, targeted by the United Nations and delineated in its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are accelerating the achievement of target sets for SDG 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, and 13. (No poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action, respectively.)

KFC, Vida e Caffe Donates Food Items to the Aged

Masco Foods, franchise holders of KFC Ghana, in collaboration with Vida e Caffe, have donated food items to the aged in the music and film industries through the Ministry of Tourism.

The event, which took place at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC), was intended to cushion the elderly people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among other food supplies, cartons of milk, tomato paste, oil, tinned fish, and sugar were presented to be distributed to the aged in the creative arts industry.

The minister of tourism, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who received the items, expressed her gratitude to the KFC and Vida e Caffe for the kind gesture, affirming that the step was in the right direction.

The gift to the creative arts industry comes months after KFC Ghana gave over 5,000 boxed meals to street people and the less privileged in twenty communities in Accra and Kumasi.

These meals were distributed at the Chorkor, Korlebu Motuary Road, Accra Mall, 37, National Theatre, Mallam Atta Market, Abofu, and Achimota areas. In the Ashanti region, some residents of Asokwa, Kwadaso, Aboabo, and Anloga also benefited from KFC's generous act.

About VIDA E CAFFE

‘Vida e Caffè’ is Portuguese for ‘life and coffee’. The company’s inspiration is fuelled by a desire to make life better and more inspiring.

The company launched its first shop on Kloof Street in Cape Town in October 2001. As of March 2020, they had over 150 stores in the Western Cape region, another 150 in Gauteng, over 20 in KwaZulu-Natal, and over 30 in the rest of the African continent.

In Ghana, the brand started in 2014 at the Stanbic Heights building in Accra, with 17 more shops opening across the country. Vida e Caffe, inspired by the street cafés of Portugal and filled with the spirit of African people, continues to serve up enthusiasm all day, every day, in all they do.
